What is Atelier D'EM

Atelier D'EM is where authentic plant-based food is created with a Turkish twist by Ece Aksakoglu.

The journey started in Montreal, Canada under the name of Atelier racines to reclaim our roots by reinventing traditional Turkish recipes with local products and cultural references of the new world. By doing this we also examined whether or not  “home” is a place, space, feeling and/or an action. 

 

We challenge omnivore dominant and traditional ideas about food with our passion for culinary culture, authenticity and good nutrition. Our niche has always been the same, whatever experience you choose to have with us will always be plant-based and authentic food with a Turkish twist and a story of home behind it. 

After moving to The Hague in 2022, we decided to rename our kitchen as Atelier D'EM for several reasons: In Turkish, Dem can mean brew, era, consistency, breath... and it’s also our family: Demir, Ece, Martin.

We look forward to meeting all curious gourmets either through pop-ups or workshops!
